I started teaching Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror (i.e., Speculative Fiction) workshops for Inlandia Institute in Fall 2025. Inlandia has asked me to continue teaching this workshop in Fall 2026. Registration isn’t open, but you can enter your email and name on my Interest Form.
(I’ve also been asked to lead an in-person “Walk & Write” workshop on October 17, probably at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in San Bernardino, which will include a docent-led tour of the cemetery, followed by the writing workshop. More information on that to come!)
The Fall workshop is scheduled to start on Wednesday, October 7. We’ll meet on Zoom from 6-8pm (Pacific) every other week for five sessions.
Each quarter I include new lectures and exercises, so you can expect a year of unique lecture material. We spend about half of our time critiquing the writing of workshop participants as well.
When Inlandia provides me additional details, registration links, etc., I’ll update this page.
Also – this is not a workshop – but another Inlandia event of interest that’s in the works is “Books and Booze.” It’s slated for October 16th at Ritual Brewery in Redlands from 5-8pm. There’s a scene in my novel WIP that’s essentially set in this venue, but with the serial numbers filed off. And Inlandia is hoping we’ll have some significant spec fic writers and editors in attendance, so please keep an eye out for that as well.
